Welcome to the new RichClan Family News and Stuff Site!
We've put this site together using Joomla!, a web site system that allows members to add articles right from their web browsers.

We're just piloting it now, and we hope it will be useful. We'll be posting the family newsletter here, and you will get an e-mail when it gets published...

What's up with the different address?

This site is an experiment, using software that I have successfully used for the ACE Site, and which will be used for the Connexions site. It allows any user with a login and the right permissions level to edit the site right in their browser.

Why is the address different?
Well, here's the scoop.

I have a main DOMAIN NAME, www.richclan.net. (That still points to the old site)
Finding and maintaining a domain name can be a pain; it's not expensive, but if you want to have a lot of different ones, it can add up.

However, I can make as many SUBDOMAINS as I want - essentially, I replace the www with something else.

For this site, I chose family.richclan.net. We've got a number of other subdomains up there, most of which have a single page without anything exceptional on it.
